The commemorations on the 300th anniversary of the establishment of the Colégio dos Orfãos [Orphan's School] in Porto, an institution founded by Father Baltazar Guedes in 1651, which housed the Polytechnic Academy and later the Rectory of the University of Porto and the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering. A memorial stone was unveiled in the foyer of the Faculty of Sciences to commemorate the event. Contains a photograph of the Mayor of the Porto City Council during his official speech.
Comemorações do tricentenário da fundação do Colégio dos Órfãos da cidade do Porto, instituição fundada pelo Padre Baltazar Guedes em 1651, em cujas instalações funcionaram a Academia Politécnica e, posteriormente, a Reitoria da Universidade do Porto e as Faculdades de Ciências e de Engenharia. No átrio da Faculdade de Ciências foi descerrada uma lápide a relembrar o acontecimento, vendo-se uma fotografia do presidente da Câmara Municipal do Porto a discursar durante este acto oficial.
