Fotografia (prova a preto e branco) de salva de linguagem neorenascentista, com cartela circular no centro rodeada por motivos vegetais entrelaçados, profusamente decorada com motivos grotescos vegetais e animais, organizados de forma concêntrica, com padrão de motivos vegetais espiralados terminando em grifos afrontados apoiados em taças com flores na orla. Peça da autoria de António Maria Ribeiro, executada na casa Reis, conforme se encontra gravado na peça, ao nível inferior, junto às marcas de contraste: " António Maria Ribeiro/ Reis Porto". No verso, carimbo do autor com a águia e " marca reg./ António Maria Ribeiro/ da Ordem de S. Thiago da Espada/ Ourives - cinzelador - Desenhador/ Rua da Constituição, 337/ Tel. 4625/Porto".A Casa Reis foi fundada em 1880, no Porto, por António Alves Reis, tornando-se mais tarde na Casa Reis & Filhos, depois de os seus 2 filhos, Serafim e Manuel Reis, enveredarem pelo mesmo ofício. Trabalhava sobretudo para Portugal e Espanha. Em 1893, a Casa Reis & Filhos recebeu o título de ourives Honorários da Casa Real Portuguesa. Apostou muito no profissionalismo, preparando muito bem os seus artifices e colocando profissionais muito competentes na direcção. Participou na organização dos I e II Congressos de Ourivesaria Portuguesa, em 1925 e 1926, integrando respectivamente a Comissão de Honra e a Comissão Nacional. Ao nível do tipo de produção, especializou-se em peças revivalistas, neogóticas e, sobretudo, neomanuelinas, religiosas e civis, com maior destaque para as de carácter historicista, em particular as que foram executadas por António Maria Ribeiro, que, pelo menos desde 1915 já lá trabalhava, vindo a ser o seu director artistico durante muitos anos. Participou em inúmeras exposições nacionais e internacionais. Aquando da Grande Exposição Industrial Portuguesa em Lisboa, em 1932, já António Maria Ribeiro tinha as suas próprias oficinas de cinzelagem e fundição. A partir da década de 40', as referências à sua actividade começam a rarear, tendo cessado a mesma por essa altura. (Trancoso, 2009, pp.51-55).
