News about the end of the mandate of Professor Augusto Nobre as Rector of the University of Porto. Reference is made to some of his measures in favour of education, as a member of Parliament, in particular the organization of the Museum of Zoology and the Marine Zoology Station and the creation of the Technical Faculty; and as the Minister of Education, the promotion of the School of Pharmacy to a Faculty. Mention is also made to his active role in the purchase of the Assyrian collections by the University of Porto.

São lembradas algumas das suas medidas em prol do ensino, enquanto parlamentar, nomeadamente a organização do Museu de Zoologia e da Estação de Zoologia Marítima e a criação da Faculdade Técnica; e enquanto Ministro da Instrução, a promoção da Escola de Farmácia a Faculdade. É, também, lembrado o seu papel activo na aquisição das Colecções Assírias pela Universidade do Porto.
