"The king and queen of Greece arrived in London, yesterday (tuesday, 9-7-63), guarded by swarming thousands of police and security men. There were a few boos, a few cheers, a couple of scuffles. But later in the afternoon a 'battle royal' took place in Trafalgar Square and around Buckingham Palace. The 'Black Sash' battle as it has been called was in support of Greek political prisoners. As a result of these disturbances a total of 91 people will be appearing at four London courts facing charges ranging from assaulting police officers to using insulting words and behaviour. Twelve of the 91 are women. A youth is led away by police after demonstrations last night (9-7-63)" See original record
