Contents: Includes Mass materials for the weeks after Easter, up to Ascension Thursday
(see Index of chants). The fragment is interesting since it shows a non-standard
Gregorian Offertory "Viri Galilaei quid admiramini" f. Cv. Moreover there are two small
textual variants in two other chants: the Psalm verse of the Introit "Misericordia Domini"
f. Br starts with "Gaudete" instead of "Exultate"; the Alleluia "Psallite" f. Cv starts with
"Psallite Deo" instead of "Psallite Domino".
Condition of document: Damaged. The fragment is composed of three folios sewed
together. The contents of the folios are not consecutive. Each folio has one side almost
unreadable: Ar, Bv, Cr. The borders of each folio are irregularly trimmed with loss of
contents: f. A is now almost half of its original dimension, f. B lacks part of the contents
at the bottom. Folds and wrinkles are present on each folio, on B there is a tear at the
bottom, in correspondence to the Introit "Misericordia Domini". There are many traces
of humidity and dirtiness. Library sticker on Bv. Also, there is a piece of parchment
sewed on f. B, which covers part of the contents.

Decoration: Very simple decoration. Plain initials alternatively in blue or red. Display
script in red. Text in black. Aquitanian neumes in black ink around a red line.
Inscriptions and marks: A modern hand added on Br two lines of text. The first line is
"A-5-4-116" and seems to be an ancient shelf-mark, the second line corresponds to the
fragment shelf-mark "1370".

Condition of document: Damaged. The fragment has been used for long time as a
book cover. Contains two folios A and B; f. B has been trimmed at the top and along the
right vertical side. It has now almost the 40% of its original dimension. f. B has been
folded and its contents are partially covered and unreadable.

Contents: The most interesting chants of the fragment are on f. 111r: the Offertory and
its verses are not part of the standard, late Gregorian repertory, the other chants can be
found in the Graduale Romanum.
Condition of document: Damaged, with lost of contents. Fragment made up of two
consecutive pages: cx and cxi. The two sides 110r and 111v are in better condition, the
ink is vanished in the two others sides. f. 111 has two big holes in correspondence to the
upper and lower folds. Spots of humidity. Clearly the fragment has been folded for long
time and used as book cover.
Foliation/Pagination: The original foliation is still readable: cx, cxi.
Page layout: f. 110 c. 270mm x c. 385mm, f. 111 c. 280mm x c. 385mm. The text is
arranged in two columns. f. 110: left column c. 85mm x c. 270mm, right column c.
90mm x c. 270mm. f. 111: c. 85mm x c. 270mm. 32 text lines.

Decoration: Two decorated initials marked by animal, floral or plant motifs. On 110v
there is "D" , height like 8 text lines, decorated with brown, green, red, yellow. On 111v
there is "F", eight like 9 text lines, decorated with red, yellow, brown. Plain initials in red
and blue. Display script in red. Text and notation in black. Aquitanian neumes around a
dry-point line.
Inscriptions and marks: On f. 110v there are some inscriptions: Masso 111C / Nota
226; 1587 / 1588.
