Contents: The most interesting chants of the fragment are on f. 111r: the Offertory and
its verses are not part of the standard, late Gregorian repertory, the other chants can be
found in the Graduale Romanum.
Condition of document: Damaged, with lost of contents. Fragment made up of two
consecutive pages: cx and cxi. The two sides 110r and 111v are in better condition, the
ink is vanished in the two others sides. f. 111 has two big holes in correspondence to the
upper and lower folds. Spots of humidity. Clearly the fragment has been folded for long
time and used as book cover.
Foliation/Pagination: The original foliation is still readable: cx, cxi.
Page layout: f. 110 c. 270mm x c. 385mm, f. 111 c. 280mm x c. 385mm. The text is
arranged in two columns. f. 110: left column c. 85mm x c. 270mm, right column c.
90mm x c. 270mm. f. 111: c. 85mm x c. 270mm. 32 text lines.
Type of script: Transitional (Protogothic)
Type of notation: Aquitanian
Decoration: Two decorated initials marked by animal, floral or plant motifs. On 110v
there is "D" , height like 8 text lines, decorated with brown, green, red, yellow. On 111v
there is "F", eight like 9 text lines, decorated with red, yellow, brown. Plain initials in red
and blue. Display script in red. Text and notation in black. Aquitanian neumes around a
dry-point line.
Inscriptions and marks: On f. 110v there are some inscriptions: Masso 111C / Nota
226; 1587 / 1588.
